The Dent Collective is a leadership and mentorship experience for performers who want to grow - not just online, but in confidence, character, creativity, and community.
Somewhere along the way, a lot of youth programs started teaching kids how to build an audience before they learned how to build themselves.
We think that’s backwards.
The Dent Collective was created for dancers who care about more than likes, follows, and highlight reels.
The ones who encourage teammates.
Who stay after class to help someone struggling.
Who work hard when nobody’s watching.
Who want to create something meaningful — not just become “known.”
This isn’t about becoming famous.
It’s about becoming valuable.
WHAT IS THE DENT COLLECTIVE?
Part mentorship. Part leadership lab. Part creative community.
A small-group mentorship experience designed for dancers and performers who want to grow both personally and professionally.
We’ll talk about branding, social media, confidence, networking, and industry readiness.
But we’ll also talk about:
- leadership
- integrity
- burnout
- teamwork
- communication
- mindset
- creativity
- pressure
- identity
- and how to stay grounded in an industry that constantly tells young performers they’re “not enough.”
Because the truth is… Most kids don’t need more pressure to perform. They need better support while they grow.
The Collective is designed to feel less like a fan club… and more like being surrounded by the right people at the right time in your life.

This is for the artists who care DEEPLY
Not necessarily the loudest dancer in the room.
Not the one with the biggest following.
Not the one winning every competition. We’re looking for the dancers who:
- show up consistently
- encourage others
- want to improve
- care about their team
- want to lead well
- are open to learning
- and want to use their influence responsibly
Some members may want careers in dance, modeling, entertainment, or media someday.
Some may not.That’s okay.
Because leadership matters whether you end up on Broadway…
or leading a team meeting ten years from now.
WHY WE BUILT THIS
Because social media changed childhood faster than adults were ready for.
Parents today are raising kids in a world none of us really grew up in.
A world where:
- self-worth gets tied to algorithms
- comparison never turns off
- attention is treated like accomplishment
- and kids are expected to “build a personal brand” before they even know who they are yet
That’s a lot.
And honestly? A lot of parents are exhausted trying to navigate it.
We built the Dent Collective because we believe young performers deserve mentorship that values the person first — not just the performance. Not fear-based. Not exploitative. Not transactional.
...just honest guidance from people who actually care about helping students grow into strong, capable, grounded young adults.
The Dent Collective has teamed up with the Whitley Brown Collective.
The WB Collective, is a Dance Culture and Mindset Positivity Project. Founded by Whitley Brown who is also a founding partner of the Dent Collective. We're excited to be collaborating together on this venture to invest in the future generations of leaders in our community. You can learn more about WB Collective on their Instagram Page

BUILT WITH PARENTS IN MIND, TOO.
If you’re a parent reading this, you’ve probably already figured something out:
Talent development is the easy part.
Helping a young performer grow into a healthy, confident, grounded human being?
That’s the hard part. The Dent Collective was intentionally designed to support both students and parents by creating a culture centered around:
- encouragement over ego
- growth over comparison
- mentorship over pressure
- and community over clout
It's not about turning kids into content machines. It's about helping them become good people who know how to navigate modern opportunities wisely.
And honestly… we think the industry could use more of that.
THE VISION
We’re not trying to build followers.
We’re trying to build future leaders.
The long-term vision for the Dent Collective isn’t just more content.
It’s a generation of dancers and performers who:
- support each other
- lead well
- create responsibly
- stay grounded
- and leave the industry better than they found it
Because the best communities aren’t built by the people chasing attention.
They’re built by the people willing to serve others with what they’ve learned.
And those are exactly the kinds of students we hope to find.

FAQ
Not in the traditional sense.
The Dent Collective is much more focused on mentorship, leadership, collaboration, and personal growth than promotion or sales.
Yes, members may help contribute to projects, community initiatives, and content ideas. But this isn’t built around discount codes, forced posting requirements, or competition between members.
The goal isn’t to create “brand reps.”
It’s to help develop confident, capable young leaders.
The Collective will meet via Zoom once a month for about an hour. Members will also have access to a Slack group for some conversation through the month. There's twelve sessions so the program runs for 1 year. The program will require about 2hrs a month from your student. The focus is building meaningful experiences - not overwhelming students with constant obligations.
The experience will include a mix of:
- mentorship conversations
- leadership development
- collaborative projects
- educational workshops
- community initiatives
- creative opportunities
- industry education
- and personal growth discussions
Absolutely.
Parents play a huge role in helping young performers navigate opportunities, pressure, social media, confidence, and growth.
We want parents to feel informed, respected, and included in the process - not shut out of it. Parents will be provided a program companion guide that outlines what we'll cover in each session and conversation starters for how to continue the conversation within your own family. We'll have a dedicated Slack channel for parents where you'll get updates and supplemental information because we understand it takes a village.
The goal is to create a healthy support system around students, not just a program students participate in independently.
No.
We’re intentionally building a culture centered around encouragement, collaboration, and leadership — not comparison.
That doesn’t mean members won’t be ambitious or high-achieving.
It just means we believe growth happens best in environments where students feel supported rather than constantly ranked against one another.
Not at all.
This program is not based on follower count, popularity, or industry status.
We care far more about:
- attitude
- consistency
- kindness
- leadership potential
- willingness to learn
- and how members contribute to the people around them
Some members may already have large audiences.
Some may barely use social media at all.
Both can absolutely belong here.
The Collective is primarily designed for middle school through high school aged dancers and performers.
That said, maturity, mindset, and readiness matter more to us than exact numbers.
We’re intentionally building this carefully to create strong group dynamics and meaningful mentorship experiences.
No.
Some members may absolutely dream of professional careers in dance, modeling, entertainment, or media.
Others may simply want a positive environment to grow in, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and connect with other motivated students.
Both are valuable.
The skills we focus on — communication, leadership, professionalism, confidence, teamwork, integrity, and resilience — matter far beyond the performing arts world.
Program is $200 for the year. This will be billed quarterly in $50 installments.
We’re looking for students who align with the values and culture of the Collective.
Talent matters.
Work ethic matters.
But character matters too.
We’re especially interested in students who:
- encourage others
- want to grow
- lead positively
- stay teachable
- and genuinely care about the community around them
This isn’t about creating an “elite” group.
It’s about building the right environment.
Yes - but the Dent Collective is its own unique mentorship and leadership initiative in collaboration with the Whitely Brown Collective. It exists within the broader Dent community.
While Dent Magazine focuses heavily on features, publications, education, and community storytelling, the Collective is designed to create a more hands-on growth and mentorship experience for participating students.
